The Department of Families Extension and Outreach with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking qualified candidates for the position of EFNEP/SNAP-Ed Coordinator. The EFNEP/SNAP-Ed Coordinator provides overall leadership, management, and nutrition education subject matter expertise to the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Nutrition Education (SNAP-Ed) Program, and other related special nutrition education programs. Through these programs, nutrition education is provided to low resource families and youth in Iowa. Responsibilities include leadership and management for developing and interpreting EFNEP/SNAP-Ed program policies to unit supervisors and paraprofessionals; setting and communicating program standards, protocols, ISU and ISU Extension and Outreach human resource and program policies and evaluating the functioning of local EFNEP/SNAP-Ed units against those standards, protocols, and policies including coordination of local program reviews; developing, writing, implementing, and evaluating special nutrition education grant proposals and supervising personnel including timely coaching and feedback, and providing coordination for the implementation of those projects; monitoring budgets for EFNEP, SNAP-Ed, and special nutrition education grants, budget management decisions, staffing and other budget related tasks including hiring, onboarding and orientation of program staff, and annual performance reviews of staff; collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting annual program reports for unit supervisors and staff, ISU Extension and Outreach administration, and USDA; program marketing and recognition; communicating and coordinating with agencies and organization on matters related to EFNEP, SNAP-ed, and special nutrition projects; developing adapting, or acquiring appropriate curriculum for adult and youth audiences including materials appropriate for low literacy and culturally diverse audiences; developing and providing staff training for professional and paraprofessional audiences on nutrition, health, nutrition and health education, and adult education; collaborating with other Extension specialists to provide interdisciplinary programming; work closely with ISU Extension and Outreach Regional Directors, county Extension staff, and County Extension Councils to support special nutrition projects; and participate in state, regional, and national project special nutrition education committees and efforts. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals and groups, including culturally diverse and low resource audiences. The candidate will also have the ability to establish partnerships with community leaders. Strong supervisory skills, including the ability to work with human resource policy and practice as well as budget and project management are necessary for success in this position.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree with three years of relevant professional experience. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. degree. Registered Dietitian. Degree in family & consumer sciences, food and nutrition, nutrition education, community nutrition, public health, home economics, education, or closely related area. Experience writing, administering, and evaluating grants/contracts. Demonstrated training or experience with human resource policy and practice. Budget management experience. Experience with Nutrition Education. Supervisoryexperience.
