3DS Mod - Can Debtors Afford Bankruptcy? Finding LowCost ...

There seems palpably in the environment, one ominous extra stress for the average intensely indebted American debtor and customer in todays terrible nationwide economic circumstances whom might perhaps see his only recourse for several relief, in processing bankruptcy: finding low-cost bankruptcy, finding low-cost bankruptcy to afford. Meaning, in essence, a non-lawyer professional se alternate.

The newest figures just released by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts found on the February 2009 bankruptcy filings, created one important fact crystal obvious to virtually every one, namely, which the pace at which the increasingly overburdened and restive American debtors each individuals and businesses are processing for bankruptcy, is at its highest degrees because the now-famous or infamous, various would mention! draconian changes of 2005 to the U.S. bankruptcy legislation. However, more significantly, which the new processing rate is ominously starting to resume the older ?hated? significant bankruptcy processing degrees which the nation had reached before which new legislation was passed in 2005, supposedly meant to correct and drastically curtail or reverse the then pre-existing significant processing degrees.

This newest trend in American debtor bankruptcy filings firmly underscores a limited fundamental points, and others. First, the depth and gravity of the financial straights and difficulties in which the average American customer and debtor is within now. Second, the truth which, regardless how difficult a legal difficulty and hindrance the institutional powers which be the Congress, the lawyers, or the financial institutions, the courts, etc might consider to place found on the path of the American debtors to try discouraging or making it more difficult on their behalf in looking the bankruptcy relief using their debt burdens, whenever it certainly comes time of terrible financial and economic crunch, Americans can somehow nevertheless find a way, and can nevertheless persevere and persist even against all chances, in demanding their constitutional liberties to be heard in bankruptcy; and thirdly, the important need, for the average debtor, for finding low-cost bankruptcy processing alternatives to lawyer.

Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard Law School professor and author of several books about bankruptcy, probably sums upwards the aim best this technique, alluding to the persuasion of the Congress by numerous special interests to pass the 2005 legislation which restricted debtors from processing for bankruptcy: ?The credit industry [and other vested interests] did its best to drive upwards the price of processing [for bankruptcy]. But when families are in sufficient trouble, they can battle their technique by the paper ticket and higher attorneys costs to receive aid,? adding which ?The term has become leaking out [once again] which the bankruptcy courts are open for organization.?

THE ?UNOFFICIALLY BANKRUPT DEBTORS? ? DEBTORS WHO CANT FILE BECAUSE THEY CANT AFFORD IT

But, even many importantly than which, from the standpoint of the average bankruptcy-seeker now, this raises one fundamental issues, still. Namely, how do the present growing military of increasingly despairing American debtors whom not merely seek to file for individual or organization bankruptcy, employing a lot of situations, really NEED to file one, AFFORD to file bankruptcy ? in certain, the significant lawyers legal cost of processing for bankruptcy? Just how do these debtors receive or find low-cost bankruptcy? A bankruptcy which debtors will relatively afford?

Some 1.1 million 1,064,000 American debtors recorded for bankruptcy earlier this 2008 season ? filings which, various experts are rapid to remind you, were carried out by these debtors despite, and under tough circumstances of, a whole host of stringent, restrictive requirements and drastically increased legal costs imposed by the 2005 legislation. But, more appreciable, from the stand aim of the debtor or bankruptcy-seeker, is another closely connected FACT: which, worse nevertheless, according to specialists, THERES NEARLY AS MANY AMERICAN DEBTORS MORE whom wished to file for bankruptcy and are qualified, yet cannot, because they just couldnt AFFORD the lawyers legal costs. These are debtors whom Justin Harelik, a bankruptcy lawyer with Price Law in Los Angeles, call the ?unofficially bankrupt debtors? ? debtors whom are all yet bankrupt yet just lack the lawyers hefty cost to create their status official!

EVEN THE LAWYERS AGREE, THEIR BIG FEES IS A PROBLEM WITH DEBTORS

In deed, though various bankruptcy lawyers would very which it be sugar-coated, various other lawyers, themselves, objectively acknowledge which the lawyers legal costs for bankruptcy is a main frequent problem and concern to debtors and clients in bankruptcy legislation practice.

?You have to pay the Chapter 7 legal costs upfront in money. You could potentially be too poor to go bankrupt,? is how Professor Robert M. Lawless of the College of Illinois College of Law once said.

Another observer, Jenny C. McCune, a contributing editor at Bankrate.com, notes which very astoundingly, weve today visit the aim where a debtor might have to ?finance bankruptcy processing,? adds: ?This might sound like a Catch-22?you do not have money so youre processing for bankruptcy, yet you require [legal fee] money so you can file for bankruptcy.?

Jonathan Ginsburg, bankruptcy lawyer, Atlanta, Ga., explains which in telephone conversations he frequently has with callers facing serious financial crises whom are thinking potential bankruptcy, following their initial doubt which is frequently general in type, ?The next doubt I receive must do with fees: If I do not have money, how am I expected to pay for a lawyer??

LAWYERS TRADITIONAL ARGUMENT FOR THEIR HIGH FEES

Bankruptcy lawyers, schooled in the art of argumentation as well as the protection of even clearly indefensible, particularly whenever it centers found on the protection of a lucrative signifies of making a living, would frequently plunge into what, in essence, are really deep philosophical reasons in justification of the significant costs they charge ? its nevertheless a ?bargain? for debtors, considering the much greater sums they stand to discharge in bankruptcy; if your debtor is ?really? hard forced sufficient by his debt stress and is ?serious? regarding freeing himself of it, hell somehow find a way; a debtor, when he is truly ?severe,? will constantly get the lawyers costs around by, mention, withholding the repayments he could have had to create to alternative creditors and utilizing it to pay the lawyer to free him of the bigger debt stress, etc., etc. It is a complex web of reasons that could have to wait for a later date to address. However, for our present immediate purposes in this informative article, the relevant problem is crystal obvious. The aim, clearly, is that for the average American debtor now, already reeling from the significant debt stress which is the prime object hes out attempting to address by bankruptcy processing, the average lawyers fee for bankruptcy several $2,000 or more for the easiest Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and $4,500+ due to its Chapter 13 counterpart is significant, in deed even excessive, and frequently is simply simple past his signifies ? in short, just UNAFFORDABLE.

LAWYERS FEES HAVE ?PRICED OUT? A LOT OF DEBTORS

Seems which the bankruptcy lawyers, by greed and monopolistic instinct, are progressively pricing themselves out of the individual bankruptcy processing organization, which truly the only realistic alternate today left to be tried, seems as a non-lawyer low-cost bankruptcy choice.

?Surveys have demostrated which various attorneys have doubled their costs to handle with new requirements imposed by the BAPCPA of 2005. Many thousands of debtors have consequently been priced out of lawyer representation in their bankruptcies,? claims Stephen Elias, a California lawyer and bankruptcy professional and author of several books found on the subject. ?Because of rules regulating the practice of legislation, truly the only legal alternate to lawyer representation is self representation? bankruptcy petition preparers will support with the forms.?

The aim then is crystal obvious. The fundamental task in front of you this quite minute in the field of bankruptcy, is devising a credible system which is low-cost for processing bankruptcy, which is easy, straightforward, and commonly accessible, and is, above all, AFFORDABLE to many debtors whom legitimately seek or require bankruptcy and are qualified and permitted file it is in the eligibility rules. It is, after all, no ?gift? or some sort of ?favor? being meted out by ?the legislation,? or some sort of mercy-peddling do-gooders of the legal establishment. But, a direct sacred correct and present of the American Constitution.

It is a task which confronts you all, particularly the bankruptcy constituency as well as the bankruptcy industry powers-that-be whom control the present bankruptcy system ? the financial and credit industry, the courts, the Congress, yet including personal entrepreneurs and inspirations people who is able to come up with new or fresh inspirations regarding how to fix the present broken individual bankruptcy system, and yes, the present bankruptcy lawyers and bar, and others.

But, of more immediacy and urgency in the mean time, still, whilst you await such a new system to be designed by the accountable parties, qualified American entrepreneurs, organizations and entities whom are capable, should be complimentary to come up with useful and beneficial approaches and techniques ? alternatives to the present all deficient and insufficient lawyer-controlled bankruptcy system ? that enable legitimate bankruptcy seekers to exercise their legitimate constitutional correct to find the bankruptcy relief choice whenever and when essential ? just and AFFORDABLY.

IN SUM

The point is that, America, inside its public and personal sectors, must swiftly make for, and create and apply, a drastically different yet beneficial bankruptcy processing system which provides the present million and per year as well as the upcoming extra countless bankruptcy filers whom can be entering the bankruptcy processing pipeline per year, a really affordable signifies on their behalf to file for bankruptcy ? the 1.4 million American filers or more which are expected to find the bankruptcy relief in 2009 calendar season alone, and past.

Facepalm! Gore?s ?dirty energy = dirty weather? claims about the US are laughable in the context of other countries

Al Gore, is his usual incompetent persona, is bloviating weapons grade nonsense again.

A few prior examples: On TV, Earth?s core is millions of degrees, in AIT, snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro will gone due to global warming, except the snows are growing, and Gore?s 24? hours of Climate Reality ?high school science? that is so solid it has to be faked in post production.

Gore?s got a new schtick, he is now complaining about ?dirty energy? making ?dirty weather?.

From the Daily Caller there?s this:

Former Vice President Al Gore showed that he isn?t giving up on sounding the alarm on global warming and its catastrophic consequences in an appearance on Current TV?s ?The War Room with Jennifer Granholm? on Thursday.

Gore, who owns CurrentTV and appeared alongside former Obama administration ?green jobs czar? Van Jones, explained that ?dirty energy and dirty money? are thwarting a green economy. And that, according to the former vice president, is behind ?dirty weather? due to ?extreme climate events.?

?Let me add if I could briefly,? Gore said, ?As Van said, it?s the intersection of dirty energy and dirty money. And we can?t forget it?s creating dirty weather because the extreme climate events that the scientific community has been telling us are connected to global warming are getting worse. We had 12 events last year here in the U.S. that cost more than a billion dollars that were connected to climate. And it?s getting worse. And now, we have this extensive drought in big areas of the country, dramatic floods, stronger storms ? completely consistent with what people have been predicting.?

I just want to grab him by the collar and slap some sense into him, Three Stooges style -? Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck!

Gore?s claims about floods, storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any aspect of weather aren?t supported no matter how you look at it. I could go on and on, but this post right here says it all:

Why it seems that severe weather is ?getting worse? when the data shows otherwise ? a historical?perspective

Bouziotas et al. presented a paper at the EGU (PDF) and concluded:

Analysis of trends and of aggregated time series on climatic (30-year) scale does not indicate consistent trends worldwide. Despite common perception, in general, the detected trends are more negative (less intense floods in most recent years) than positive. Similarly, Svensson et al. (2005) and Di Baldassarre et al. (2010) did not find systematical change neither in flood increasing or decreasing numbers nor change in flood magnitudes in their analysis.

Be sure to follow the link and read the entire essay if you have not already.

Al is unable to separate the signal from the noise, because he himself is a noise generator. His detector is swamped. That, and its the next phase of keeping his gravy train alive with the help of the Rommulans and the McKibbenites. Get people to fear the weather and you?ve got a powerful tool to control people. They?ve been successful at spreading this disinformation, for example:

Interestingly, almost all of those hits in the first several pages talk about the USA and its ?dirty energy?. Gore himself focuses on the USA and its ?dirty energy?, ignoring the rest of the world, because that?s where he wants to change policy in his profit favor.

But if ?dirty energy = dirty weather? places like this should have terrible catastrophic weather, right?

No, that?s not the result of a volcanic eruption. Here?s another:

Yes, that?s snow under that soot. Nothing says Christmas like black snow. Have you guessed where this is yet?

You?re getting warmer:

Yep. Russia. Specifically?Prokopevsk. Prokopevsk is a coal mining city where boiler houses work all year around. It shows. Source: http://englishrussia.com/2012/04/09/dirty-dirty-prokopevsk/ There are many more shocking photos there.

So let?s look for severe ?dirty? weather connections in and around Prokopevsk. Should be easy to find right? Surely, as ex-Rommulan Brad Johnson (who made Vermin Supreme a household name with climate followers) asserts, there has to be divine payback for such dirty sins:

So, I searched for the obvious posited connection being pushed by Gore, Romm, McKibben, and Johnson. There were only a few results:

Of of them was this one, from Rommulan correspondent Dr. Jeff Masters, who I thought sure would be making a strong connection between dirty Prokopevsk and severe weather:

No such luck, it turned out to be an off-topic comment about some explosions heard in Prokopevsk:

http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comment.html?entrynum=2035&page=4

And none of the other 234 results panned out either, there just doesn?t seem to be severe weather in Prokopevsk that I can find. But Al says ?dirty energy? equals ?dirty weather? in the context of severe weather, so unless dirty snow is severe weather, there seems to be none there. So I thought to myself, maybe I?m searching wrong, if severe weather is happening in that area due to the ?dirtiness? it might be better for an image based search. Surely there would be pictures of divine weather retribution like Brad Johnson says.

Nope. Just 13 images, none about severe weather in that area.

Of course all this is tongue in cheek, and just as ridiculous as the claims that Al Gore makes, or Romm makes, or McKibben makes. But, it does underscore one very important point.

Due to environmental regulations in the USA, you won?t find dirty snow of that scope, breadth, and magnitude in any USA city caused by coal-fired power plants. I?ve looked.

I grew up in a Midwestern town fueled by coal, we had coal furnace in our basement (like the house in the classic movie A Christmas Story), we had coal furnace at school, and a coal-fired power plant generating electricity in our town. Even before the first EPA regulations of the 70?s, our town never looked like that in winter. I?ve been unable to find any USA city today in the shadow of a coal-fired power plant that looks as bad as those scenes in?Prokopevsk in the winter. If there was, you can be sure the Gores, Rommulans, and McKibbenites would be sure to blast it everywhere.

But we have art to help visualize the problem. Gotta love the coal stains on the tops of the cooling towers. Obviously the artist has no idea about what cooling towers emit. Hint ? it isn?t soot filled smoke.

?No Globes? Fill Up With Dirty Coal When You Shake Them

green design, eco design, sustainable design, Smog, environmental destruction, Dorothy UK, No globes, Dirty Coal, united nations Climate Change Conference

The design team at Dorothy in the UK has created a souvenir of environmental destruction. Their ?No Globes? are tongue-in-cheek snow globes that riff off the familiar tchotchke?s form while criticizing the dirty coal industry. The knickknack is a powerful- yet cute ? way of drawing attention to the worldwide problem of pollution caused by the burning of coal and fossil fuels.

In the USA, environmental regulation have done the job, but the enviros always want more.? Even the best environmental regulations in the world aren?t enough for them. When they succeed in shutting down every coal-fired power plant in the USA they?ll go after something else, probably natural gas fired power plants

One final note, I?ve been puzzling over this perennial hotspot in GISS over Russia for some time. From GISS, NOAA, GHCN and the odd Russian temperature anomaly ? ?It?s all?pipes!?

As most readers know by now, the problematic GISTEMP global temperature anomaly plot for October is heavily weighted by temperatures from weather stations in Russia.

gistemp_after_october_correction

GISTEMP 11-12-08

From that post:

?Posters at Watts Up have commented on the ongoing consistently high anomalous temperatures from Russia. I have noticed this too.? In light of the erroneously posted data for October, I took a look at the monthly NCDC climate reports back to January 2007.? By my eyeball estimate the results from Russia are almost all on the high side. .? Some I classified as very highs are massively high.? Of the 21 months reported, only 2 appeared to be below average.

I did find a study they posted that seems to point to a significant warm temperature anomaly in Russia during winters between 1961 to 1998:

ru_temp_anomaly

Fig. 1. Linear trend coefficient (days/10 years) in the series of days with abnormally high air temperatures in winter (December-February), 1961-1998.

From the Russian study they write:

For the winter period 1961-1998, most of the stations under considerations exhibit a tendency for fewer minimum temperature extremes. Maximum (in absolute value) coefficients of the linear trend were obtained in the south of the country and in eastern Yakutia.

?

Like in the USA, weather stations tend to be distributed according to population density, with the more populated western portion of Russia having more weather stations than the less populated eastern areas such as Siberia. To illustrate this, here is a plot of Russian Weather Station locations from the University of Melbourne:

russian_met_stations

With dark, dirty winter albedoes like we?ve seen in scenes in?Prokopevsk in the winter, I wonder if the temperature anomaly in Russia isn?t driven by soot on the ground?

I have not been able to locate a map of Russia?s coal-fired power plants, but if anyone knows of one, I?d be interested if you can leave a comment.

Long-term ICS use reduces pleural effusion in patients with CAP

Long-term ICS use reduces pleural effusion in patients with CAP [ Back to EurekAlert! ] Public release date: 23-May-2012

ATS 2012, SAN FRANCISCO Prior treatment with inhaled corticosteroids in patients with respiratory disorders who develop community acquired pneumonia (CAP) is associated with a lower incidence and severity of parapneumonic effusion, according to a new study from researchers in Spain.

A parapneumonic effusion is a type of pleural effusion (excess fluid that accumulates between the two pleural layers, the fluid-filled space that surrounds the lungs) that arises as a result of a pneumonia, lung abscess, or bronchiectasis.

"Long-term treatment with inhaled corticosteroids is associated with an elevated risk of CAP in patients with COPD, while at the same time, use of inhaled corticosteroids is also associated with less CAP severity and a lower risk of pneumonia-related mortality," said Jacobo Sellares, MD, PhD, associate faculty member at Hospital Clnic The August Pi I Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) in Barcelona, Spain. "In our study, prior treatment with inhaled corticosteroids in patients who developed CAP was associated with a lower incidence and less severity of parapneumonic effusion, regardless of the patient's baseline chronic respiratory condition."

The results will be presented at the ATS 2012 International Conference in San Francisco.

The single center study enrolled 3,602 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of CAP. Of these, 659 (18%) had respiratory disorders treated with inhaled corticosteroids before CAP was diagnosed. Respiratory disorders included COPD (56%), asthma (13%), bronchiectasis (6%), and other disorders (25%).

Patients with prior treatment with inhaled corticosteroids, compared with those without, had a significantly lower incidence of parapneumonic effusion (5% vs. 12%). This association remained significant after adjustment for age, sex, comorbidities, and CAP severity. Prior corticosteroid treatment was associated with a higher incidence of simple parapneumonic effusion and a lower incidence of empyema compared with no prior corticosteroid treatment.

Baseline pulmonary disorder did not affect the relationship between corticosteroid treatment and parapneumonic effusion.

"Pleural infection is common in patients with CAP and is associated with an increased mortality risk," said Dr. Sellares. "Our results show that previous treatment of respiratory disorders with inhaled corticosteroids may reduce the risk of developing this dangerous complication."

The potential preventive role of inhaled corticosteroids in preventing parapneumonic effusion in patients with high risk of CAP must be clarified in future randomized studies, according to Dr. Sellares.

Abstract 30951
Influence Of Long-Term Use Of Inhaled Corticoids On The Development Of Pleural Effusion In Community Acquired Pneumonia
Type: Scientific Abstract
Category: 10.03 - Community Acquired Respiratory Infections (Including Epidemiology) (MTPI)
Authors: J. Sellares1, A. Lopez-Guiraldo1, C. Lucena1, E. Polverino1, C. Cilloniz1, R. Amaro1, M.A. Marcos1, J. Mensa1, A. Torres2; 1Hospital Clinic - Barcelona/ES, 2Hospital Clinic Del Barcelona / - Barcelona/ES

Abstract Body

Rationale

Long-term use of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) has been associated with increase risk of CAP. By contrast ICS have been associated with less CAP severity and a decreased risk of pneumonia-related mortality. Pleural infection is a frequent complication of CAP that may increase mortality. The objective of this study was to assess the influence of long-term use of ICS on the incidence and severity of parapneumonic effusion in patients with different baseline respiratory disorders.

Methods

We conducted a single centre cohort study of 3602 patients consecutively collected with the diagnosis of CAP. We assessed clinical, radiographic and pleural fluid chemistry and microbiological variables. Pleural effusion was classified according to American College of Chest Physicians guidelines. Patients were classified whether they received prior ICS treatment or not.

Results

659 patients (18%) were treated with ICS before diagnosis of CAP (COPD: 56% Asthma: 13%, Bronchiectasis: 6%, others: 25%). Prior treatment with ICS was significant associated with less incidence of parapneumonic effusion compared to those without prior ICS treatment (5% vs. 12%, p

Conclusions

The prior treatment of ICS in patients who develop CAP is associated with lower incidence and less severity of parapneumonic effusion, regardless of the baseline chronic respiratory condition.

Fighting the Good Fight for Renters' Rights | REALTOR.com? Blogs

Fighting the Good Fight for Renters? Rights photo

Let?s face it: Renting isn?t the American Dream. But for most of us out there ? and even more so now that the demand for rentals has increased ? the day-to-day reality of being a tenant, while figuring out how to pay more rent and still save money to buy a home, is getting tougher.

Before I bought a house in a short sale two years ago, I rented. In 10 years, I lived in six different rentals with varying degrees of satisfaction. Mostly, I was unprepared to rent because my family hadn?t rented when I was growing up (my parents bought their home four years before I was born and still have it). I knew to read my lease before I signed it, but I didn?t know what I should look for in a ?fair? lease or that rent and lease terms could be negotiated. I didn?t know what my rights as a tenant were. When I was a college student, I naively thought the contract was more between my parents and my landlord than me and my landlord ? even though I?d signed the lease.

That all changed when my shared rental house was sold in the middle of the lease term and my new landlord gave me $33 of my $350 security deposit back when I moved out. My dad said, ?That?s what happens.? He told me to get over it, even though the repairs the landlord charged us for contradicted the terms of the lease we?d signed with our original landlord.

A little research into Ohio?s tenant laws (if the judgment is in favor of the tenant, the landlord must pay the tenant?s attorney fees and double the judgment amount), a few threatening letters from our attorney, and I?d recovered all but $50 of my deposit.

So, when all you want is a comfortable place to live while you squirrel away money for a down payment on your own house, how do you protect yourself?

First, learn in advance what I learned out of necessity: States have tenant laws and knowing them will help prevent a landlord from trying to take advantage of you. I?ve rented and lived in three states (Ohio, Minnesota and California) and all of them set up their tenant laws to keep renters safe from unfair landlords.

Second, make sure your lease has some minimum responsibilities outlined: length of lease, rent due date, grace period, late fees and included utilities. The easiest way to protect yourself is to have everything in writing. If you and your landlord agree to an amendment of your lease, write it down and both of you sign it.

Most of all, though, don?t do what my dad advised if you think you?re being treated unfairly. Turn to the internet or low-cost legal services to see if there?s something you can do. It never hurts to try. Oh, and buy renters? insurance.

Want to learn about tenant laws in your state? The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development can help.

Divorce & Grandparents/Martin Rosenfeld ? Articles About Civil and ...

A blog on grandparents, children, and divorce recently appeared in the NY times. The author, KJ Dell?Antonia, had several cogent points to make on the need to encourage this relationship post-divorce. Readers added? pertinent comments as well. We can all appreciate that children should not be robbed of this relationship, even when parents are no longer married to one another. Some suggestions include the following:

1. Keep lines of communication open. Do not assume that the relationship will follow the same old rules. Work on keeping channels open.

2.? Divorce affects all family members. Grandparents may be reluctant to freely come over for regular visits. Issue invitations to ensure positive relationships.

3.? Be aware of children?s needs. It is obvious that significant events in a child?s life will normally be enhanced by the presence of grandparents.

4.? Do not assume about relationships that are post-divorce. There are pleasant surprises that occur when people, in good faith, work on continuing positive relationships.

5.? This comes from a reader?Keep extending the hand of reconciliation even if that hand is sometimes bitten. A worthy goal. Focus on your child?s needs; you can?t go wrong with such efforts.

Gold And Silver Investing Apmex Safe And Wise Investment Options ...

More and more people are investing in gold and silver these days. That is usually what seems to happen when societies are facing major economic crises, which is what we are facing today. Why do people turn to silver and gold in times of economic crises instead of investing in bonds, stocks, and foreign currency? One of the main reasons is that stocks, bonds, and foreign currency depend directly on how well the global economy is doing financially. In an economic crisis, it is not performing well financially. As a result, foreign currency, stocks, and bonds also perform poorly. However, the value of gold and silver usually remain relatively constant in all types of economic conditions. That is what makes gold and silver investing APMEX a good idea in this economic climate.

There are different dealers where you can invest in gold and silver. You can find many precious metal dealers online nowadays. This is because it is very convenient to do your investing online and so going online is a good way for dealers to attract a lot of investors. They offer values and prices in real-time, investors can buy and sell desired precious metals really easily and quickly, and investors can conveniently view and organize all of their investments at once. Therefore, this method of investing is really popular. One of the largest precious metal dealers that are located online is APMEX. APMEX stands for American Precious Metals Exchange, Inc. Gold and silver investing APMEX is increasing in popularity.

How gold and silver investing APMEX works is you search for the different gold and silver products that you want, for which the prices are readily available, you place them in your basket, and you pay for them. They also give you the value of gold and silver. The different types of gold products that people invest in are gold bullions, gold bars, gold coins, etc. People also invest in silver bullions, silver coins, silver bars, etc.

Some of the reasons that gold and silver investing APMEX is becoming really popular are because of the competitive prices, gold and silver investing in general is up, and gold and silver usually constitute the safest investments. In times of financial crises, you want to prevent any investment losses. Because the values of silver and gold do not decrease with a falling economy, investing in gold and silver instead of stocks and bonds can help prevent you from experiencing these losses.

Pest Control Portland Or - Pest Control Tips for the Homeowner

It can turn out to be a huge mistake to neglect taking pest control measures around your home. Doing even the smallest things on a regular basis will go a long way toward keeping pests from setting up shop in and around your home. Here are a few simple pest control tips for the average homeowner.

Food Pests are attracted to all types of food that you leave lying around your home. This ranges from dirty dishes in the sink to crumbs left behind between the sofa cushions. As far as dirty dishes go, you will want to avoid leaving them in the sink overnight. At least put them in the dishwasher.

Those who have pets will also attract problems if they are not careful. Never leave your pet's food out overnight in the bowl either, because rodents and other pests may get to it before they do.

Water Never let moisture problems go unresolved around your home. If you notice the sink in your bathroom is leaky, get it fixed. It may not take more than 15 minutes to do so if you know what you are doing. Pests will be attracted to standing water, so that little time investment could save you quite a headache. Leaky sinks in the kitchen are particularly problematic since this area provides both water and food.

Yard Some people just hate keeping their yards tidy. If you let it get too cluttered though, pests will set up homes out there. Keep your grass cut to a reasonable level since insects love tall grass. Weeds growing around your home should also be treated with weed killer. Fallen leaves, dead branches, and other debris should also be disposed of immediately.

Gutters Hopefully, you are aware of the important job that gutters do around your home. Basically, they help protect your home from top to bottom. A damaged or malfunctioning gutter system can cause problems with your roof, interior walls, and foundation.

If water is allowed to collect in your gutter, then it will help attract pests to the area. You definitely will not want mosquitoes breeding like crazy so close to your home. Keep a check on your gutters especially during the fall when the leaves and branches start falling.

These are just a few simple pest control tips the average homeowner should have no problem using. Sitting around doing nothing may cost you big. Take just a little time out of your schedule and you will be glad you did.

Make Money Online with Amazon, Yahoo and ebooks - How Can I ...

The internet has opened up many new ways to earn money. Now almost everyone can easily start making money online. While there are many methods and techniques to earn money on the internet, selling ebooks, using the Amazon affiliate program and starting your own Yahoo Store are some of the easiest for people who do not have much experience in internet marketing.
?
?Making money with ebooks
?
?Ebooks are basically informational content that is being sold online. Most of the ebooks being sold on the internet are instructional how-to guides which answer people's questions about a specific need. These could be guides on making
?money online, fixing computer problems, training your dog, relationship advice and more.

What most people don't realize is that while the sales pages may tout the guides as being the ultimate sources of exclusive, top secret information that is impossible to find anywhere else, this is actually far from being actually the case. The same information found in these guides can usually be located by spending a few hours of
?searching and putting together your findings. All that the authors do is rewrite common methods, advice and information, and sometimes add their own advice based on their knowledge of the subject. This means that you do not have to be a
?professional writer to put together a successful ebook, but you should at least have some knowledge and interest in the topic of the guide you are writing.
?
?Once you have your ebook written, you need a way to sell it. You will need to set up a website with a sales letter that tells people what your product is about and most importantly why they should buy it. While writing good sales copy takes some
?practice, you can get some ideas from the sales pages of other products on the internet. To take payments and deliver the product, you can set up a "buy it now" button in your PayPal account that will redirect buyers to download your ebook once
?they have made the payment.
?
?To sell your ebook, you can buy text advertisements and banner ads on sites which deal with the topic your ebook is written about, such as forums.
?
?While it may seem like a challenging task at first, after you gain an understanding of the details of how to write and promote ebooks, you can have a lot of success. For more information, you can visit popular internet marketing forums such as The Warrior Forum (www.warriorforum.com) and Digital Point (forums.digitalpoint.com)
?
?How to make money with the Amazon affiliate program
?
?Amazon.com offers an affiliate program with which you can earn money by placing links to Amazon products on your website or blog. Depending on the
?item that was bought by the client, you will receive a commission ranging from 4% to 15% of its price.
?
?Joining the Amazon Associates program is easy, and can be done by visiting their website at https://affiliate-program.amazon.com .
?
?To make money from Amazon's affiliate program, you first need to have a website or a blog. For example, if you have a blog that talks about books, you can put Amazon affiliate links to the books that you recommend. You will then earn money
?if one of your visitors makes a purchase using your link.
?
?How to start your own Yahoo Store
?
?A Yahoo store is a great tool that lets small businesses sell their products online. To start building your store, simply go to http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/ecommerce/
?

Ohio Catholic University Drops Student Health Insurance over ...

Delicious Digg Facebook LinkedIn reddit StumbleUpon Twitter Bit.ly Email PDFmyURL

Students of the Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio will have to find their own health insurance coverage. Last Tuesday, their school ended an Ohio student health insurance program in protest against the Obama administration?s contraception mandate and costs associated with other provisions of health care reform.

Effective August 1, 2012, all new plans must cover certain preventive services including contraception. The mandate that religious-based institutions like hospitals and universities provide birth control coverage in their insurance policies is opposed by Catholic organizations. Most look upon the contraception mandate as one that tramples on religious freedom.

Franciscan University, a very conservative Catholic school decided to act by announcing that it will withdraw health plans for students rather than provide for contraceptive services and products which have so far been excluded from its policy.

The University says it will not participate in a plan that ?requires us to violate the consistent teachings of the Catholic Church on the sacredness of human life.?

In addition to the birth control mandate, they citied rising cost of student health care as a reason for their decision. The Affordable Care Act mandates that maximum coverage amount be increased to $100,000 for policyholders. This would result in the student coverage to include many more services, causing policy cost to double by fall 2012 and even triple next year.

Students Told to Find Their Own Coverage

Students have been advised to make their own decisions about coverage. ?We encourage you to decide how you are going to provide for accidents or illnesses requiring visits to physicians, health clinics or the hospital emergency room while you are a student here,? says the University?s website announcement.

While the University may be justified in upholding religious principles, the fact remains that students should not go without health insurance. Many students will likely be covered through their parents? policy, though even this has its limitations. Fortunately, comprehensive, affordable Ohio student health insurance plans are available in the neighborhood. Full-time students under 26 can easily find their own individual health plan with a little professional help.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama says the big trading loss at JPMorgan Chase shows the need to finally put in place banking rules he signed into law two years ago. He also is calling on Congress to stop trying to weaken the regulations.

The $2 billion loss has renewed calls by Democratic lawmakers for tougher rules on major financial institutions.

"Without Wall Street reform, we could have found ourselves with the taxpayers once again on the hook for Wall Street's mistakes," Obama said in his weekly media address Saturday. He added: "We've got to finish the job of implementing this reform and putting these rules in place."

Obama promoted rules that would require big banks or financial institutions to have more cash on hand to cover losses and that would take away big bonuses and paydays from failed CEOs.

The president said financial institutions that "aren't cheating customers or making risky bets that could damage the whole economy" have nothing to fear from reforms.

"Yes, it discourages big banks and financial institutions from making risky bets with taxpayer-insured money. And it encourages them to do things that actually help the economy ? like extending loans to entrepreneurs with good ideas, to middle-class families who want to buy a home, to students who want to pursue higher education," he said.

Though Congress passed the tougher oversight of the financial sector in 2010, the law gave bank regulators time to write the new rules.

One focus of the financial oversight overhaul is a provision that restricts banks' ability to trade for their own profit, a practice known as proprietary trading. It is named for Paul Volcker, a former Federal Reserve chairman. But a draft of the rule has failed to satisfy either banks, which says it would disrupt some of their core functions, or advocates of stronger regulation who say it would have prevented JPMorgan's loss.

In the Republican's weekly address, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson faulted what he called a "do-nothing Senate" under Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada for the frustrations he said he has felt in his 16 months in Congress.

Noting that the Senate hasn't passed a budget in three years, Johnson said House Republicans have fulfilled their responsibilities by passing a budget but that Senate Democrats have not fulfilled theirs.

This past week, the Senate rejected by a 99-0 vote a budget that Republicans offered up based on an Obama proposal in February. Four other budget plans also were voted down.
